The first day of Rabi’ Ath Thaani 1448 AH will fall on September 13, 2026 (CE). The month of Rabi’ Al Awwal concluded with 30 days.

There were only negative reports of the hilal sighting on the evening of September 11, 2026 throughout the United States. In New Jersey, at the time of sunset, the hilal was less than a degree above the horizon making it very difficult to be seen.

These monthly announcements serve a dual purpose. First, they seek to increase awareness and appreciation of the Hijri calendar among the Muslim community in America. Second, they provide a historical record of events surrounding lunar observations, preserving details that may be of value to future generations.
