The month of Rabi’ Ath Thaani completed 30 days. The first day of Jumada Al Awwal corresponds with Friday, the 24th of October, 2025 CE.

On Wednesday, the 22nd of October, 2025 CE/ 29th of Rabi’ Ath Thaani, 1447 AH, the hilal was not sighted anywhere in the continental United States. It was reported by a well-known Hilal Sighting Committee that the hilal was sighted in Trinidad and Caribbean islands. This report was found to be erroneous. It was further determined that there were reports of the hilal being sighted in Guyana and Suriname in South America. These verified reports were not accepted by any other hilal sighting committees in the continental United States or Canada. The night sky of the northern hemisphere is quite different from the southern hemisphere even though the standard time is generally the same. On the evening of 23rd of October, 2025, it was too cloudy to sight the hilal in central New Jersey. However the hilal was sighted in Atlanta, Georgia, Memphis, Tennessee and Berkeley, California. Due to this rejection of the South American reports, Rabi’ Ath Thaani completed 30 days and Jumada Al Awwal began on the 24th of October, 2025.
