الحمد لله رب العالمين، و صلاة و سلام على سيدنا محمد و على اله و صحبه و سلم
On the evening of June 6th, 2024, which corresponds with the 29th of the holy month of Dhul Qa’dah, 1445 AH, the global Muslim community went out to search the hilal of the holy month of Dhul Hijjah. The hilal was not sighted anywhere on the continent of North America or any where else in the globe, except for a lone sighting in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Based upon this information, the 30th of Dhul Qa’dah will correspond with June 7TH, 2024 and the first day of the holy month of Dhul Hijjah, 1445, will commence on June 8TH, 2024. For everyone who are following the sighting and declaration from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the first day of the holy month of Dhul Hijjah, 1445 will commence on June 7th, 2024. The ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, the day of Arafat will correspond with June 15th, 2024, and the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah, Eid al Adha will correspond with June 16th, 2024. The day of Arafat for the Hujjaj will be on June 15th, 2024. In following the methodology and criteria of the Maliki Madhhab for moonsighting, the sighting in Saudi Arabia will not be accepted by The Green Islamic Foundation, may Allah bless them for their efforts and bless all the administers of Hajj as well as all whom Allah has blessed to take the journey of Hajj. Based upon this information, for those who are not going on Hajj, the ninth of Dhul Hijjah will correspond with June 16th, 2024, and the tenth of Dhul Hijjah, Eid al Adha will correspond with June 17, 2024. And Allah truly knows best.
