A Small Note Regarding Things to Come

The 29th of Shawwal 1445 AH will correspond to the 8th of May 2024 in accordance with the accepted moon sightings. Please consider welcoming the first of the three successive sacred months, Dhul Qa’dah, by preparing to sight the hilal of Dhul Qa’dah on the evening of May 8th. If you choose to participate in this month’s moon sighting, please submit a report of your findings to The Green Islamic Foundation. The contact log can be found on the Astronomy Log page of the website. We are nearing the end of the Hijri year. With that we are also preparing for Hajj and Eid Al Kabir (Eid Al Adha). This year has been filled with trials and tribulation. One of the lessons that could be derived from all the events of the year is that perception is not always reality. Eventually the truth will triumph over falsehood. It takes a great amount of patience and steadfastness to stand in the light of truth facing so much darkness in the world. Know that Allah is with the patient. In these last two months of the year 1445 AH, our good deeds will be magnified. We have the opportunity to build upon this year’s Ramadan and to begin the new Hijri year on a spiritual high note. Do not lose hope and do not overlook the countless blessings that are showered over us like the beautiful spring rains. May Allah bless the rest of your Shawwal. May Allah enter you into the sacred months with safety and divine security.

BiSalaam,
